StarHub is Singapore’s fully-integrated info-communications company, offering a full range of information, communications and entertainment services for both consumer and corporate markets.

StarHub operates a mobile network that provides 4G, 3G and 2G services. It also manages an islandwide HFC network that delivers multi-channel pay TV services (including HDTV, Internet TV and on-demand services) as well as ultra-high speed residential broadband services. StarHub operates an extensive fixed business network that provides a wide range of data, voice and wholesale services. Over Singapore’s fibre-based Nationwide Broadband Network, StarHub offers a broad range of home and business broadband plans, as well as commercial and residential IPTV services.

Our aim since launching in 2000 is focused on providing every person, every home and every business in Singapore with world-class information, communication and entertainment services. That is why we pioneered the concept of hubbing – the ability to deliver unique integrated and converged services to all StarHub customers.

At the same time, we also recognise that one of our most important stakeholders is StarHub’s talent pool. They ensure we stay ahead of the competition through outstanding and memorable customer service. Besides our core values, we differentiate StarHub as an employer of choice through our HAPPY persona:Happiness, Agility, Proactiveness, Passion and You.

That is because beyond the mobile and broadband services, the TV entertainment, the products and solutions, StarHub’s business is delivering Happiness. The joy of connecting with loved ones, of being entertained, of greater productivity. The last value, You, emphasises our empowerment of each StarHubber to take the lead in delivering excellence, achieving the corporate vision, charting his or her own career here and finding fulfillment. After all, we believe happy employees lead to happy customers.

Here are some ways in which we champion people development in StarHub: In 2006, we introduced volunteerism leave that gave employees a chance to take part in corporate community outreach events.  In 2012, StarHub pledged support for the United Nations Global Compact Principles, which include support and respect for internationally proclaimed human rights.

In 2013, we increased our town hall sessions to twice-yearly, with quarterly video messages from the CEO, to improve staff engagement. We also ramped up our company’s coaching culture with 40 senior managers mentoring 85 “new” managers.

In 2014, our Career Development Framework was rolled out as part of our talent engagement and retention efforts to help employees manage and grow their careers in StarHub.

In conjunction with this Framework, internal Career Fairs, Career Guidance Workshops and Career Coaching were made available to our employees and line managers.
