Lendlease is a leading international property and infrastructure group listed on the Australian Securities Exchange with over 12,400 employees worldwide. Our capabilities span the entire property spectrum development; investment management; project management & construction and asset & property management – and our expertise covers multiple sectors including commercial, life sciences, retail, residential, hospitality and education.
People are at the heart of everything we do. Creating a sustainable future is not new to Lendlease – it’s been an integral part of our culture for more than 50 years.
Our vision of creating the best places is underpinned by a long and proud history of an approach where environmental and social outcomes are given equal priority to economic.
To deliver value and prosperity in the places we create requires focus on what matters to our stakeholders. In Lendlease, we have a Sustainability Framework which sets out 12 elements with long-term aspirations and specific near term targets for three elements – energy, water and waste. This approach will help drive innovation and create a more resilient business that generates value for our customers, motivates our team, improves communities and delivers long-term value for those who invest in and work alongside us.
Through a variety of health and wellbeing, personal development and community engagement initiatives, we make sure we leave a positive and lasting impact on our employees and the communities. One of them is the Community365 program where volunteer opportunities are available to our employees all year round, allowing us to establish sustainable long-term relationships with the community.
We were the first Australian property company to be included on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) in 2001, and 2014 marked the 14th year we were listed on DJSI. Lendlease managed funds have been taking out top positions in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) with all five of our Asian funds in the top 10 spots against 42 other Asian funds in 2014.
Jem, delivered through Lendlease’s integrated model, is the first mixed-use development to achieve the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Platinum version 4 rating, the highest sustainability accolade in Singapore. We also were the first to introduce Green Leases to Singapore via 313@somerset. Recognising our sustainability leadership, we were invited by the Singapore Building and Construction Authority to be part of International Panel of Experts for Singapore’s 2nd Green Master Plan.
